What's on my iPod right now?

Here's a little section to tell everyone what I'm listening to right now. Sometimes it will be a new album, sometimes an album that I'm listening to again, nevertheless, this is a place where I can share some music I like and also a place where you can give some feedback from you.

If you have some suggestions on any albums you'd like to see reviewed, just let me know. I love music, and I listen to virtually every genre.
J. Cole- Cole World: The Sideline Story

As Cole's debut album, I had some mixed reviews. I mean, I was already skeptical of his debut listening to his Friday Night Lights mixtape, thinking, "how can he possibly top this". In many ways I was right. Friday Night Lights was untouchable compared to this. To be fair to Cole, going from an Independent star to an artist signed to a major record label can be restricitng artistically. You can definitely see this in some of Cole's songs on the album. Some tracks just didn't seem to fit. Mr. Nice Watch, featuring Jay-Z, had a more commercial, electronica feel to it; it was a feel not completely familar to most J. Cole songs I've heard.
Nevertheless, I've listened to this album at least ten or fifteen times, and every time I listen to it, it gets better and better. If you are a Cole fan, there is no question you need to check this out. If you aren't, I'd say check out Friday Night Lights first, but then definitely check this out.
My favorite tracks on the album are Rise and Shine, God's Gift, and Lost Ones. Lights Please is good, but it was on The Warm Up, so I've listened to it so many times already.
     J. Cole has a fascinating talent using words and metaphors. He brings topics we all can relate to, moral and social issues that we see every day, and still brings the prescence of a commercial Hip-Hop star. Cole World is a good debut. I rate it a 8.5 out of 10. I am exctied that Cole has hit the scene, and I can't wait to see where his career goes.
